Corynne Bredin and Nigel Head — about us |

|
Corynne won her first notable prize for painting while still a schoolgirl in the USA. Born in England and widely travelled, especially during her early years, spent partly in the tropics in the Sudan and Singapore, her imagination was fired by the unusual and diverse.
She attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Art USA, Colchester Technical College (now Institute) Essex, and St Martin’s School of Art London, gaining a Graphic Design BA (Hons) qualification.
She has worked in creative roles for commercial film animation, publishing, design, advertising and communications. Freelance work has covered photography, watercolour portraiture and a wide variety of decorative, graphic and cartoon subjects.
In 1980 she spent a sabbatical year painting wildlife in Kenya followed by a successful one-woman exhibition. Head hunted into commercial positions her career has spanned corporate business environments, including lighting and transport.
She is a design consultant and has recently returned to producing creative work. Many of her original works are with private clients, both here and abroad.
Nigel is largely self taught, but he has been taking classes for the last 10 years from Dr David Cranswick PhD, who demands high standards of practice in rigorous traditional oil and egg tempera techniques.
During this time Nigel’s subjects have covered portraiture, still life, domestic animals and landscape. His respect for the Old Masters has been deepened by making several copies of great works including Bellini, Caravaggio, Constable, Rembrandt, Turner, Palmer, and John Henry Bright.
Nigel’s classical values are likely to remain a feature of his work in the future.
Originals, copies, and prints are available. Commissions are welcomed.
